JOURNEY TO INDIA

Journey into the Himalayan region of India with Esha Chhabra, founder of Alaya Beauty.  Meet women farmers who are responsible for the beautiful ingredients in this ethically-sourced skincare line, explore the beauty of Uttarakhand, enjoy vistas of Himalayan peaks, and stay in picturesque eco- lodges.

November 1 - 10, 2017: Open to all

This 10-day trip will include a brief tour of Delhi, followed by a drive into the beautiful hills at the base of the Himalayas.  We will stay in eco-lodges, run on solar power, and enjoy fresh, local cuisine. Alaya Beauty sources ingredients for its new skincare line from these hills. Why?  We believe in supporting the female farmer who is the backbone of her families, and her community; we believe in natural ingredients that are wild-harvested, and preserve the ecological balance of this region; and lastly, we believe in creating a beautiful product that has a positive impact on the world.  Come see how it's done.  Visit apricot orchards, processing units, and local organizations, working with these female farmers to keep jobs in rural communities and promote organic agriculture.

Uttarakhand is a majestic state with jaw-dropping scenery, including many of the Himalayan Peaks.  We'll do short hikes, practice yoga, learn about the local wildlife (keep your eyes out for leopards), stay in a wildlife sanctuary, visit artisan groups, and have some hands-on courses on natural beauty and local cuisine.

All meals, hotel accommodations, and transport in India is included in the cost of the trip.  We request you book your own airfare and apply for a tourist visa.  We'll be happy to help with any questions/concerns.

Cost: $5,000. Deposit of $1,500 due by August 15, 2017.

Kindly send a check for deposit, written out to Esha Chhabra to 207 West Los Angeles Avenue, #145, Moorpark, CA 93021.

For the remainder, we will accept credit cards or checks.

Please note that part of the proceeds will go back to local organizations we visit on this trip who support women farmers in the region.
